The CI-NERGY Alliance marks  a pivotal step towards accelerating clean energy adoption across India’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I) sector. CI-NERGY is envisioned as a self-sustaining, national-level alliance creating a collective voice for C&I sector energy procurers to steer towards cleaner, reliable, affordable and accessible energy markets.

CI-NERGY brings together a diverse set of stakeholders—including C&I energy procurers, clean energy suppliers such as utilities, technology and service providers, financial institutions, governments, regulatory bodies, industry associations, academic institutions, and civil society. By engaging both MSMEs and large corporates, CI-NERGY seeks to foster an inclusive C&I ecosystem that addresses systemic challenges through innovative models and co-created, scalable solutions.

The Alliance aims to catalyze clean energy procurement and use by:

  • Fostering a collaborative ecosystem of all stakeholders
  • Promoting market transparency
  • Engaging in policy and stakeholder dialogues
  • Facilitating access to finance and technology innovations
  • Demonstrating pilots and scaling adoption
  • Building an accessible knowledge repository and strengthening capacities

Over the next 3-5 years, the Alliance will take a systematic approach to identify the needs and requirements of various C&I sector stakeholders, and implement promising solutions and models, to help transition from conventional fuel sources towards clean energy.
