Aravinda Devaraj is a Senior Program Research Analyst at WRI India, where she works on making urban transport systems accessible to all. She works on integrating gender considerations into urban mobility systems through evidence-based research and community engagement. She collects and analyses relevant mobility data to help public transport agencies understand the impact of mobility policies on women and vulnerable commuter groups.

Prior to joining WRI India, Aravinda worked on econometric modelling of commuter travel behaviour and analysing transit data to develop a trip planning mobile application to encourage greater public transit use among commuters. She has worked in diverse contexts ranging from architectural design and historical settlement conservation to urban transportation planning. She is passionate about learning and teaching and has been a faculty of architecture at SRM University, Chennai.

Aravinda holds an MS in Transportation Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai and a B.Arch from the RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru.

Aravinda is a Toastmaster, and enjoys travelling to pick up new languages, music, art, and inspiring stories from unexpected sources.
