Aspruha Swain is a Program Associate – Early Childhood Friendly Cities with the Nurturing Neighbourhoods team at WRI India, based in Rourkela. In her role, she contributes to designing and implementing early childhood-centric urban planning initiatives, focusing on creating inclusive and livable neighbourhoods for young children and their caregivers.

Before joining WRI India, Aspruha worked with the Housing and Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, as part of the PMU for three years. She managed and supervised surveys, GIS mapping, and analysis for 110 Urban Local Bodies across Odisha, coordinating with teams from SMEC and NIUA. Her experience spans multidisciplinary teamwork, spatial assessment, and strategy development.

Outside of work, Aspruha enjoys exploring her creative side through music, art, and cooking. She is also passionate about learning new software and experimenting with home interiors. Deeply committed to creating positive change in urban spaces, she looks forward to contributing to and learning from WRI India’s work on nurturing neighbourhoods.
