Dr. Sneha Malhotra is the Associate Director with the Sustainable Cities and Transport program at WRI India, where she leads the Energy Innovation and Technology portfolio. She drives strategy on emerging clean energy technologies, including energy storage, green hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuels, marine decarbonization, and critical minerals, focusing on policy design, technical solutions, and financing pathways for large-scale sustainable energy transitions.

Before joining WRI India, she served as the Chief Technology Officer at the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. In this role, she was deeply involved in national initiatives such as the National Green Hydrogen Mission, National Electric Vehicle Mission, and the ANRF, and represented India in global science dialogues including the G20 CSA Roundtable, India–EU TTC, and Indo–US iCET. A chemical engineer by training, she brings extensive experience across industry, academia, start-ups, and policy research.

Sneha holds a Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee and an M.Tech from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai. Outside of work, she enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction, baking, and watching political thrillers.
