Evelin is a Program Associate with the Climate, Economics and Finance program at WRI India. She is a research professional with a background in economics, econometrics and field experimentation.

Before joining WRI India, she worked at the Centre for Research on the Economics of Climate, Food, Energy and Environment and the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), New Delhi. At ISI, she contributed to projects with the Energy Management Centre, Department of Power; the Department of Women and Child Development, Govt. of Kerala; Environment for Development Initiative and NITI Aayog. She has also worked on an Indian Council of Medical Research-funded project at St. Stephen’s College, focusing on building pandemic resilience in rural communities. She has also independently led a field experiment on caste discrimination in Delhi’s rental housing market.

Her academic training includes a Master’s in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Bachelor’s in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi. 

When not thinking about policy or running codes, you will find her listening to music or watching art films. She enjoys reflecting on historical and political roots of economic thought and occasionally escaping it all by turning her phone gallery into a chaotic archive of clouds, trees and skies that looked better in person.
