Nabarun Sengupta
Senior Program Associate – Green Skilling and Green Jobs - Climate, Economics and Finance
Nabarun works as a “Senior Program Associate – Green Skilling and Green Jobs” at WRI India and is responsible for strengthening and expanding WRI India’s work in green skilling and green jobs under the climate program.
Nabarun started his career with Pratham as a Research Associate. This was followed by a 2-year fellowship with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, where he was engaged in planning, implementation and monitoring of short-term skill development projects in Coochbehar, West Bengal. Following this, he joined GIZ India, where he was engaged in project management of TVET projects aimed at strengthening the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) ecosystem.
Nabarun’s educational background entails a Bachelor's in Economics (Hons.) from the University of Calcutta and a Master's in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Hyderabad.
Outside work, Nabarun enjoys reading English and Bengali literature and cooking various dishes. Occasionally, as a novice harmonica player, he also likes to pick up a new song.
