Neha Sharma is a Program Associate with the Food, Land and Water program at WRI India, where she focuses on food loss and waste. She brings an interdisciplinary background in sustainable agriculture, microbiology, and post-harvest management to her role.

Before joining WRI India, Neha worked with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), contributing to research on sustainable agricultural practices and post-harvest loss mitigation. She holds a Ph.D. in Material Science from Deakin University, Australia, a master’s degree in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology from Banasthali University, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Microbiology from the University of Delhi.

Her research interests include sustainable agriculture, polymer science, agri-residue utilization, and circular economy approaches. She has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, reflecting her commitment to science-based solutions for food systems and environmental sustainability. At WRI India, she is currently working on mapping the policy landscape for reducing food loss and waste in India.

Outside of work, Neha enjoys cooking and exploring nature, combining her scientific curiosity with a love for the outdoors and culinary creativity.
