Pamli Deka is the Head of Energy Transition Finance with the Energy Program at WRI India. At WRI India, Pamli will support the program with identifying pathways and solutions for financing the transition towards supply of clean energy and decarbonization of energy consumption, while ensuring equitable development and resource efficiency. She will further research on the optimal arrangement between private sector finance and public finance to catalyze growth and cumulatively help achieve India's energy and development goals.

Pamli has 19 years of experience in the energy sector across operational, consulting and financing roles. Prior to her joining WRI India, she managed the South Asia operations of the Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN). She also volunteers with NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore as a climate mentor.

Having closely followed and covered renewable energy and oil & gas companies as an equity analyst, Pamli brings hands-on experience in solving some of the business model-related challenges for clean tech companies. A chemical engineer from IIT Roorkee and MBA graduate from INSEAD, Pamli has also co-authored research papers and many widely-read articles on the role of energy in development. In a previous stint with WRI India, she helped build the energy access body of work at the organization. Prior to that as a part of the New Ventures team, she facilitated investments in social enterprises in India, Nepal and Bangladesh.
