Safa is a Communications Associate in WRI India’s Core Communications team, where she works at the intersection of design and communications. Her role spans developing visual identities, graphics, and campaigns, as well as supporting strategies for digital and social media outreach.

Before joining WRI India, Safa was a Communications Analyst with the Quality Council of India, under the Ministry of Commerce. She led media and communications for the Sarpanch Samvaad initiative, the organization’s flagship project to improve the quality of life in rural India. She also worked on policy-driven projects, collaborating with ministries and state departments to design campaigns, toolkits, and branding guidelines that enabled grassroots communities to engage consistently and meaningfully.

Safa holds a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia and Communications from the University of Calicut, Kerala, and a master’s degree in Society and Culture from IIT Gandhinagar. Her academic background brings together culture, design, and media, shaping her approach to design as a way to connect with people and their stories.

When she is not obsessing over alignment by 0.2 pixels, you’ll probably find her making reels, exploring Pinterest boards IRL through cozy cafés, or heading off to lesser-known villages full of stories, food, and culture. She also has a soft spot for old bookstores, handwritten letters, and perfectly brewed coffee.
