Saumya is a Research Fellow in WRI India’s Energy Program, working primarily on electricity transmission planning and grid resilience.

She has over a decade of experience working across the electricity value chain in India and has published several policy reports and academic papers on energy issues.

Prior to WRI India, Saumya worked with the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) in Delhi, Prayas (Energy Group) in Pune, and PRS Legislative Research in Delhi. 

She has a PhD in Geography from the Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from Sciences Po, Paris, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Saint Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
