Saurabh Verma
Program Associate – Sustainable Cities & Transport
Saurabh Verma is a Program Associate with the Eco-City Region team at WRI India, where he supports sustainable urban development through research, planning, and stakeholder coordination. His work focuses on strengthening climate-resilient city systems by integrating innovative approaches into urban services and mobility planning.
He brings over four years of experience in urban planning across academic, government, and consultancy roles. He has worked with the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Lucknow, Jhansi Development Authority, Chitrakoot Special Development Authority, and Uttar Pradesh Tourism. His contributions span vision plans, strategic planning assignments, and policy-oriented projects to improve urban infrastructure and services.
Saurabh holds a master’s degree in Transportation Planning and Logistics Management from the School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Babu Banarasi Das University, Lucknow. His academic and research experience has deepened his expertise in sustainable mobility, urban systems, and climate-responsive planning.
Outside of work, Saurabh enjoys traveling and exploring cities. He is particularly interested in observing the rhythm of streets, mobility patterns, and public spaces, and he also enjoys learning new languages to connect with diverse cultures.
