Shreya Mittal
Senior Program Associate – Offshore Wind Energy
Shreya is a Senior Program Associate with WRI India's Energy Program, working on themes related to critical minerals and offshore wind energy. On critical minerals, her work aims to unpack the challenges with the trade of critical minerals and facilitate the development of equitable critical mineral supply chains for India. Under offshore wind energy, Shreya researches and runs comparative studies on the offshore wind ecosystem across countries to develop comprehensive, compliant, and customized policy guidelines which are tenable and scalable in India.
Shreya is a lawyer by training and comes with more than a decade of experience across research, academia, public policy, legislative drafting, advisory, and compliance & regulations. Previously attached with the Ministry of External Affairs, she drafted the Emigration Bill repealing the then extant legislation called the “The Emigration Act, 1983.” Prior to this, she served as an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Delhi. Shreya finds her catharsis in Indian classical dancing and trains in Kathak and Odissi forms of classical dance. Yoga and Sanskrit inspires her. She enjoys growing greens in her kitchen garden, professes travel as a marvelous teacher, and celebrates herself being a mom.
